Micro-Loan Program for Graduates

The Aboriginal BEST training program, supported by the Ministry of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation and Human Resources and Social Development Canada, is a free training opportunity available to all Aboriginal people who are interested in pursuing self-employment and entrepreneurship as a career option.

At Vancity, we understand that small businesses are vital to the health of our economy, yet it can be difficult for small businesses to find the products and services they need to get off the ground or to grow.

The Vancity microloan program fills the gap between traditional bank lending and the availability of venture capital by providing small business loans to new entrepreneurs. Unlike traditional small business loans that are based mostly on business history, access to capital and collateral, as a credit union supporting Aboriginal entrepreneur development, we consider the character of the owner and the strength of the business plan.
